Fisher-Price is recalling more than ten million children's products, including toys, tricycles and high chairs. The recall comes amid reports that children have been injured by the merchandise. Kentucky product liability lawyers are urging consumers to beware of Fisher-Price's dangerous products.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that Fisher-Price tricycles, including Trikes and Tough Trikes, have caused injury to ten children. Six of those children required medical attention. Approximately seven million toddler tricycles were recalled.

The tricycles, which feature characters like Barbie and Dora the Explorer, are constructed with a protruding ignition key near the seat. Children can strike or fall on the key, resulting in injury. Some children's injuries have included genital bleeding.

Fisher-Price also recalled more than one million high chairs, including the Easy Clean, Close to Me and Healthy Care highchairs. The highchairs have pegs on the back to be used for tray storage. However, children have fallen on these pegs, resulting in cuts and other injuries. The CPSC reports that seven children required stitches.

Although CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum praised Fisher-Price for agreeing to the recall, he stressed that manufacturers need to be more vigilant with safety concerns before they place dangerous products on the shelves for consumers. Fisher-Price is offering free repairs or replacement of these products.

Nearly all of the recalled Fisher-Price products were sold in the United States, although 400,000 of them were distributed in Canada. Consumers concerned about their Fisher-Price products can visit the company's website at http://www.service.mattel.com to receive more information on the model numbers and dates of sale for the recalled children's products.
